The Europa is testament to Lotus founder Colin Chapman’s philosophy in creating ingenious Grand Prix winning cars – ‘Simplify, then add lightness’. Originally built in 1970, at the legendary Norwich factory in the UK, with an innovative box steel chassis paired to a distinct fibreglass body. The novel mid engine position, that had proven so successful for Lotus in Formula One, was until then unheard of in road cars.
